HawaiiWow!
Zipline your way across Hawaii
It doesn't get any better than this . . . flying on the zipline at Piiholo Ranch on Maui.
Do you need some zip in your vacation?  You can get it by flying over Hawaii on a zipline.  (This is great for dull people; it wakes them up.)

Can you handle 60 miles per hour on the longest zipline in Hawaii - 3,600 feet?  That's with Flyin Hawaiian on Maui.  Do it and you'll say "Hawaii Wow!" for sure.  Or maybe you'll say "Hawowee Maui" (we know that's bad, but we can't help ourselves).

Flyin Hawaiian has seven other ziplines.  The shortest is 250 feet and barely off the ground to get the nervousness out of your system so you go "Whee!" instead of wee-wee when soaring over valleys and ridges.

(If you're the macho type, instead of squealing you can sing "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay, my oh my what a wonderful day!")

The cost?  Like the ziplines, it's high, like $185 per person.  But you'll be making a day of it.  And remember, only birds fly for free.

Hey, you can pay less or you can pay more at the other zipperooskis on the islands.  Many offer a choice of how many lines to zip and can bundle in other activities: kayaking, wall-climbing, zipping by moonlight and into water.

Here are links with zipline information, including reviews (love reviews). Other sites seem buried in the Web, but Hawaii Wow! dug them out for you:

Words to the wiseguys:

* Don't plan on just showing up and hopping on. You probably should make a reservation before you even think about going to Hawaii (that's actually impossible, but do it anyway).

* You may get weighed and if you are, let's put this delicately - too much of a load - you won't get to zip and you may not get your money back.

* Don't count on bringing gramma and grampa who just want to watch; it may not work out.

So, unzip your lip and and ask lots of probing questions, Sherlock.
