Hawaiians live in a state that can surprise you, because there are amazing things about Hawaii that you wouldn't expect.

For example, Hawaii is the most southern state in the United States. It's even below Mexico City. That's one reason it is the only state that can grow coffee, world-famous coffee. Although Hawaii is a tropical paradise, it does have freezing temperatures. What's more, the Hawaiian Chain of islands is not Hawaii per se.

But that's not all that makes Hawaii stand out. Their geographic location in the Pacific Ocean makes Hawaiians the most isolated population center in the world. And it is the only state in which everyone is in a minority.

Another amazing fact about Hawaiians is that although the population is small, the people are loco, crazy, nuts about Spam and eat way more of it than does any other state, even for breakfast. In addition, the song that everyone thinks is the Hawaiian Wedding
Song
is not the Hawaiian
wedding song.

But Hawaiians know how to keep Hawaii beautiful, and they banned billboards as well as Daylight Saving Time. But when they run up the state flag, guess what's in it? The British Union Jack!

Let's talk about pets in Hawaii. There are no snakes in Hawaii (well, there is one squirrelly technical exception), and there are strong laws against having them. Not only that, many common pets are against the law in Hawaii. And don't try to bring your dog with you on vacation or he'll go to doggie jail.
